Talks and Posters

Public talks and posters about DisMech, and about the NAM (New Approach Methodology) work it connects to. Each entry links to an archived copy of the slides, which is a Zenodo DOI wherever one exists. Reuse a slide by citing its DOI rather than copying the deck.

This page lists only material presented publicly. Internal and funder-facing decks are not listed here.

2026-10-28 Making New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) Computable for Mechanistic Discovery and Regulatory Decisionmaking Through NAM Ontology (NAMO) (poster; Korn, Hench, McMurry, Mungall, Haendel) ASCCT 15th Annual Meeting, Durham, NC doi:10.5281/zenodo.23582135

The surrogate-endpoint talk was written to follow on from NAMOlution. NAMOlution sets out why NAMs need shared semantics and how a NAM study is designed around its context of use. The surrogate-endpoint talk asks whether a biomarker sits on the causal path to a clinical outcome, using DisMech's causal graphs and the surrogate endpoints in the FDA's approval tables. Its worked example is Fabry disease: the accepted renal surrogate (GL-3 clearance in kidney peritubular capillaries) measures one branch of the mechanism, and iPSC-derived cardiomyocyte models could supply evidence for the cardiac branch, which the surrogate does not assess.

Adding a talk

Add a row in date order to the section that fits. Give the talk title exactly as it appears on the slides, the speaker, the venue (linked if it has a page), and an archived link to the slides. Prefer a Zenodo DOI; link a venue-hosted copy when the slides are not on Zenodo, and a Google Slides link only as a last resort, because those are not guaranteed to stay public.
