Schema Enum Description
The classical occupational-hygiene classification of workplace hazards by the *nature of the agent*. This is the organising scheme used throughout occupational health practice and teaching, and it is the axis the ILO list uses for its section 1 (chemical / physical / biological agents), extended with the two categories that scheme historically omitted — ergonomic and psychosocial — both of which the ILO list now recognises as causes in section 2 (musculoskeletal disorders; mental and behavioural disorders). Assign the agent's nature, not its effect: noise-induced hearing loss is a PHYSICAL hazard, not a physiological one.
